Ultra violet lamps, are one of the most effective and widely used methods for sterilising drinking water. Ultra violet lights, or lamps are now used in a number of applications for water sterilisation. Domestic water systems, commercial water systems, desalination systems, drinking water treatment, waste water treatment and recycled water treatment plants all use some form of  Ultra violet sterilisation for eliminating harmful bacteria from the water source.

Ground water or bore water, often contains traces of bacteria, and because this can be subject to changes and fluctuations over time, it is good practice, to assume all ground water contains some level of bad bacteria. For this reason, we highly recommend the use of an Ultra Violet Steriliser for treating your bore water, spear water, or even domestic rainwater from the tank, prior to consumption. Domestic and commercial desalinators often utilise the ultra violet lamp, before and after the unit, to maximise the effectiveness. Feed water is treated to prevent bacteria build up in the membranes, then the product water is treated again, prior to storage.

Ultra violet sterilisers are very simple in their operation. Water flows in one end and water flows out the other end, it's that simple! After having said that, there is a little more to it realy. Ultra violet sterilisers are best connected to a filter combination assy for effective sediment and chlorine/chemical removal prior to the lamp itself.
